Ancient Mosaic Found Near Sea Of Galilee Depicts Jesus' Loaves And Fishes Miracle.
This month we read the exciting discovery by archaeologists who uncovered a mosaic in the ruins of a Byzantine church, built around 450 CE in the Decapolis city of Hippos Sussita. The church, overlooking the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee, was destroyed by invaders in 614 CE. This scene of Jesus feeding the 5,000, found in an unexpected location, may have something to say about where that miracle took place. The traditional site of the feeding of the 5,000 is further north.
Have a blessed month!
